Learn VORA in five minutes

From install to first answer, plus the shortcuts and answers people actually look for.

Quick start

Three steps from download to first answer.

  1. 01

    Install

Download the installer and run the three-page wizard. VORA lands in your programs list and on your desktop — no configuration needed.

  2. 02

Register with an email address. Signing in turns on cloud sync for sessions and attachments; you can skip it and stay local.

  3. 03

    First conversation

Choose Work or Codex, type a request, and press Enter. Attach files with the clip icon, or switch models from the picker above the input.

Work guide

The Work workspace is an office-grade assistant for analysis, writing, and research.

  • Analyze sheets — Attach an .xlsx or .csv and ask questions — VORA computes with the Excel formula engine or sandboxed Python and returns charts.
  • Draft documents — Ask for a draft, paste your own text for a rewrite, or request a specific tone and length.
  • Search the web — Enable search to ground answers in fresh sources with citations.
  • Query your knowledge base — Import documents once, then ask across them; answers cite the passages used.

Codex guide

The Codex workspace is a coding agent that works directly on your machine.

  • Open a project — Point Codex at a folder. It reads the structure before touching anything.
  • Describe the task — “Fix the failing test”, “add a CLI flag”, “refactor this module” — plain language is enough.
  • Review each step — Terminal commands and file edits are proposed and executed with visible diffs; you approve what matters.
  • Build and fix — Codex runs builds, reads the errors, and iterates until the loop closes.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?
Local-first. Conversations are cached on your machine; when you sign in, they are also synced to the cloud so the desktop and web apps match. Knowledge-base indexes stay on your computer.
Are my conversations uploaded to the cloud?
Only when you are signed in — sync is what keeps devices identical. Sign out (or stay signed out) and nothing leaves your machine. Deleting your account removes cloud data with it.
How does model routing work?
VORA classifies each request — reasoning, writing, code, vision — and routes it to a suitable model among DeepSeek, Qwen, Claude, GPT and others. Pin any model in the picker to keep it fixed for a conversation.
How do I update VORA?
Updates install automatically in the background and apply on next launch. You can also download the newest installer from the Download page at any time.
What is the difference between the web app and the desktop app?
The desktop app adds local powers: the terminal and file operations in Codex, the Python sandbox, desktop automation and screenshots. The web app covers conversations, knowledge base, and search, and is the easiest way to use VORA away from your machine.
Which languages are supported?
The interface is fully bilingual in Chinese and English, and the models handle both natively. You can write in either language and switch whenever you like.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion cascades: cloud sessions, attachments, and account records are removed together. Local files created by the app on your machine are yours to keep or remove.
